Girl's Baseball or Softball

Girl's baseball cake:
I used a
baseball pan and added long hair.

Girl's Softball:
The
invitation is a ticket I found online
then somehow changed the
information on it.

The cupcake balls are blobs of frosting made with a big round tip. Just keep pumping frosting into the center of the ball. Then, the bats are just lines of brown with a little extra pumped into it at necessary points.

another view :

I made the ball out of the 3-dimensional, ball cake pan.

I made the mitt out of a rectangle cake pan
and cut into a shape with a knife.
I cut a hole where the ball would sit, cause the ball is
kinda heavy and would have smooshed the cake anyway.

Hot Dog, Bar-b-que, Camp out

Star Wars, Millenium Falcon

Cupcakes are star destroyers.

Hamburger cake, bar-b-que

The sleep-over invitation was for the boys, the b-b-q invite was for the girls.

Really is one of the EASIEST
 cakes to create.
The hardest part is mixing all the different colors of frosting.

Bun is regular butter cream frosting with cocoa added till the color I wanted spread on with a butter knife.
Lettuce is just squiggles of green with a rose tip.
Hamburger is decorated with regular butter cream frosting and add in cocoa till it's as dark as you want (a couple of tablespoonsish) and enough milk till the consistency is spreadable but holds its shape. I just tapped the knife on the edges of the cake and got a "rough" crusty hamburger look.

Cheese is with a flat tip. Done just enough to see from the edges of the burger.
Mayo, mustard and ketchup squiggles.
Pickles made with a rose tip.
Onions made with a larger writing tip.
Tomatoes same as the onions.
Sesame seed are just small dots all over.

Hawaii

He just got back from his first trip to Hawaii.

Star Wars, R2D2

Cupcakes are light sabers.

Kirby

A Kirby fanatic,
we went outside the box
and
created this.

The cupcakes matched
with
a big blob of frosting.

Soccer

"Head" on over,
and get your "kicks"
at Koby's 11th
Birthday Party.
.
We'll have the best tasting soccer balls around.

Kinzie
also
likes
soccer.

The soccer ball is obviously from the Wilton Ball pan. It comes with a template for the pentagons. I cut the pentagon shape out of paper and traced it onto the cake with a toothpick.
The field
is a giant round wedding cake pan.
The ball took a whole cake mix and so did the field.
The small soccer balls are just simply big blobs of frosting. I held the tip of the frosting tip in the icing blob and just kept squeezing frosting into it.
The spots on the balls are just random dots, but it works.
The black and the green colors I mixed from the Wilton color pastes. I used more green tint for the grass than I did for the field to give it a darker color.
The grass is a Wilton grass tip.
The ball is just a bunch of stars from a star tip. I like to use #18. It covers more area more quickly.

Friday the 13th

Beat the odds of this.
He was born on Friday the 13th.

He turned 13 on Friday the 13th.
So,
we threw him a Friday the 13th birthday party.

Cupcakes were an upside down horseshoe with 13 inside of it.

The pennies were upside down on the invitations
and on the front porch.

Come find out if you're a
Paraskavadekatriaphobiak.
(Fear of Friday the 13th)

We had the kids walk under a ladder to get in the house.
We had a horseshoe upside down over all the doors.
We had the kids break quarter-sized mirrors.
We opened umbrellas in the house.
Watched a movie called "Just My Luck."

Took pictures on the ladder.

Rocket

Cupcakes are the Big Dipper

.

Invitation is in the center:
.
Rocket on over to Kashton's
9th Birthday Voyage.
It'll be "Out Of This World."
Date:
Liftoff:
Landing:
Launchpad: Kashton's house
We'll "shuttle" you home.

.

We blacked out the windows of our house with black garbage bags.

We had every black light that we owned taped to the walls of our living room.

We had glow in the dark frisbees to hand out for party favors taped to the walls.

I had made planets out of glow in the dark paper taped to the walls around the room.

We played balloon volleyball with glow in the dark balloons and glow in the dark streamers.
.
.
.
A LOT of work, but it was a total HIT.
Everybody LOVED it.
